What is wrong with Malaysia ?

Many people say Malaysia has abundant of natural resources but fail to move up the development ladder.

Many people also compare Malaysia to Singapore and praise Singapore and condemn Malaysia. To get the record straight, Malaysia is no Singapore because Singapore is a city state, the equivalent comparison would be to compare Singapore to either Melaka or Penang or maybe in the near future to the Iskandar Special Economic Zone.

So, what goes wrong on Malaysia's path of development, the reason is that the person who in charge of solving Malaysia's problem has basically zero idea on what goes wrong with Malaysia, hence, in the process of solving the problem, the commander-in-charge actually becomes part of the problem.

The end result is that not only the original problem never get solved, it actually worsen as time passes by.
